
This is the monument of the old railway bridge at Backney, Foy, over the river wye, nr ross-on-wye. On a sharp bend on the wye stands the remains of the old railwail bridge, now a viewpoint and picnic area. A beauty spot in itself but also a attraction for fishermen/woman. Bird watchers are able to catch a wide variety of birds and wildlife including;- Big numbers of Mute Swans, kingfishers, Mallards, Goosanders, Heron, Buzzard, jay, Magpies, Thrushes, Greater spotted woodpeckers, nuthatch, treecreeper, Some of the smaller birds are Bluetits, Great tits, Goldcrest, Longtailed tits, Reed buntings, pied wags. Winter fieldfares and redwings. Many gulls, crows pass by nr the old landfill site.
