Home-made Bluetit Cam-box.
Brother and i originally made a large bird box for possible Dove / Starling / Owl, and we put a camera in it but nothing fancied it yet. So i borrowed the camera out of the big box and put it in a small birdbox. This small box was only put up in the holly tree ( with kind permission of our adjoining neighbours hedge, ) at the begining of April 2007. It is east facing so when the sun goes around full south the box gets shade and shelter from full sunlight / heat. As still an amatuer i'd keep an eye out and see what come about. I had checked the box on the morning of the 24th april 07 an still nought. But brother saw a bluetit carrying a bit of grass, so on went the computer and hey presto she had started her nest building. The first day she put all grass in, the second day moss went in and the third day feathers. Twas very neat to see how she put the nest together by twirling round an round with her wings out. But she wasn't staying in the box at night untill the fourth night. So here on she gets very busy as the pictures will show.
